Emerging & Tropical Infections
Emerging & Tropical Infections
In the last years as a result of population growth, large-scale migration, and tourism we have seen the spread of tropical infection. Examples of tropical diseases include Malaria, Usutu, Chikungunya, and Dengue. Among the pathogens that cause these infections we can find both bacteria, viruses and parasites. Some tropical diseases that had been largely controlled, such as Dengue reemerged and new diseases, such as Ebola, appeared. Some tropical diseases began to spread into temperate climates as a result of increased human travel and climate-driven migration of vectors.
